Star Anise Powder

Star anise has been used for more than 4000 years for its various properties. Its seeds are also infused to soothe digestive disorders and many other ailments.

Reduced to a powder, you can enjoy its aromas without having to infuse star anise. A practical time saver in the kitchen.

This highly fragrant and slightly sweetened ancient spice is slightly more aromatic than its counterpart, green anise. Anise has an aroma of fennel and liquorice with a sweet freshness and a subtly pungent finish.

The unique flavour of star anise blends well with a host of sweet and savoury dishes. In desserts, it goes particularly well with fruit, especially citrus fruits, as well as ginger and cinnamon. Sprinkle some in recipes such as:

• fruit jams (strawberries, peaches...)
• cakes
• Crème brûlée
• Chinese dishes (stir-fried vegetables, noodles...)
• soups
